Holly Allapatah
Allapattah, a name derived from the Seminole Indian language word meaning alligator. One of the oldest neighborhoods in Miami Florida and where the Corpus Christi church is located and who has been carrying out processions over decades. The Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza "La Macarena' is the most attended on "Viernes Santo" (Holy Friday). Once a mostly African American neighborhood, now Allapattah residents are also from different Latin American countries.
